Of all vaccination controversies in this country, the HPV vaccine is among the top most controversial ones. Many parents strongly oppose the vaccination based on fears of side-effects as well as moral and ethical grounds. The Pharmaceutical industry uses a form of slipper science to back marketing campaigns which term the vaccine as a “cancer vaccine.” But unlike MMR and Pertussis vaccines given near infancy, HPV vaccines have found a very focused objection from parents in general. For starters, parents are being asked to decide that their children are sexually active. In addition to that, the vaccine is known worldwide to be injurious. Japan rejects the HPV vaccine as a whole (they refuse to recommend it until we have further proof that it is effective and injury free).
